After years of dreaming of owning my own shop, I finally decided it was the right time in my life to make it happen! So with plans in hand and a concept in my mind, I went to my good friend Robin and asked for her help with this new and exciting venture. She jumped on the bandwagon…..and it has been a blast since the doors opened in October of 2008! Robin and I have been friends for 22 years. We met in the school playground as we were sending our oldest sons off to kindergarten, and have been friends ever since. Selecting the shop name was the first challenge, and despite public speculation on who exactly this Myrtle is……the name was selected with the Myrtle topiary plant in mind! She is not someone’s Aunt Myrtle as some think! We both love gardening, antiquing and decorating and knew we wanted to stock the shop with fun, unique and affordable items that we ourselves had been searching for to give as the perfect birthday, wedding, teacher and baby gift!
After our first two years of business we decided we needed more space to be able to offer a variety of gifts for Friends, Family and Home. So we moved a few doors down the street to 35 East Baltimore Street. We settled into our larger storefront quickly and we are super enthusiastic about our new location.
We are thrilled to be in downtown Greencastle . . . great restaurants, unique specialty shops….a great place to spend an afternoon!
